Quick Mobile Phones Reviewed

Posted on 10 March 2010 by Bill Bowman

Samsung J750: It was only last October 2007 when Samsung released their sleek, streamlined model the Samsung J750, and already the phone has garnered a lot of favorable raves and reviews. And it is only fair as there is a lot to love with Samsung’s little number. First thing one notices, for obvious reasons, is the J750’s wonderful and brilliant design. Though effective simplicity is key with this unit, it is however edgy with the curves in all the right places. And the slider mechanism does wonders, especially when sliding it open to reveal the innovative keypad design. But never let its looks fool you, for what your eyes see in the J750 is nothing compared to what it can do to your senses. This unassuming little phone is teeming with functionality and features that the user would surely love. Samsung definitely knew what it was doing when they conceptualized the J750.

Samsung E250: Samsung is the kind of brand that you neither love nor hate. Be it with their home stereo components, television sets, media players, and mobile phones, there is just something about it that eludes the market. Is it lack of innovation? Cetainly not. But people’s faces do not light up at the mere mention of their name. Maybe it’s because they just have always been on the safe side of things. Their designs do not reach out and grab you by your heart and throat the way a Sony Bravia or a Pioneer micro component might do. But with the release of their mobile phone model the Samsung E250, they may soon turn the tables around.

Nokia 6300: One look at the Nokia 6300 and right away it exudes both fun and stylishness. The candy bar type 6300 comes loaded with features that most people look for in mobile phones. All that power is wrapped by a gorgeous and sophisticated stainless steel casing, which gives it its robust look and sturdy feel. It is also slimmer than most mobile phones in its class, so you can easily lug all that power with you – whether you’re the athletic or the business type. Casual phone users will also delight in its ease of use. If you are an experienced Nokia user, you will find it easy to navigate through the menus. In fact it would feel like home for you.

Sony Ericsson T270: Last January 24, 2008 in Delhi, India, the Sony Ericsson merger announced the launch of two new budget phones: The Sony Ericsson T270 and its big brother, the T280. They are a pair of affordable mobile phones with a definite flair for design. The similar looking phones are a pocket sized candy bar featuring a sleek brushed light metal with glass finish and comes in two color combinations; the Silver and Black and the sure to be a hit Copper and Silver combo. The only noticeable difference between the two is the absence of a camera lens at the back of the T270. But before you faint at the idea of a phone not having a camera – be aware first of the target audience of the T270, for it is definitely not a phone not for everyone.

Palm Treo 500v: Newer versions of mobile phones are being made to cater to the more intimate needs of the user. Every cell phone has a specific feature that may be designed to your advantage. As our technology grows, the mobile industry also takes a step further. Treo is not new to these upgrades and technological demands. In fact, it has recently released the Palm Treo 500v. It is the newer version of the smartphone; which vodaphone recently launched around the world, especially in Europe.

HTC Hero Smartphone

Posted on 20 January 2010 by Agnes Lamont

Introducing the HTC Hero Smartphone. The Google Android phone you have been waiting for. Supercharged by Google’s Android operating system the Hero is one to own. The design of the phone is daring to say the least. Most recent phones have all become slick shapeless blobs as they have all lost their hard lines and angles. This HTC Smartphone is very angular. The phone feels more rugged and tough than rest of phones on the market today. The angles make for a more comfortable and natural feel in your hand.

Display & Browser – As with other Google Android phones the display is multitouch with a really good 480-320 screen. The brightness is similar to other phones of this type but feels warmer than most. If you are a little worried about on-screen keyboards, don’t be. The keyboard is particularly good on this phone. There are three keyboard layouts in both portrait and landscape modes. The standard full QWERTY keyboard, a phone keypad and a cut down version of QWERTY – which has two letters per key. The full QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode is a dream to type fast with. The browser makes full use of the multitouch feature with pinch to zoom out and spread to zoom in. Flash support is also incorporated into the core WebKit browser.

Widgets – The HTC Hero is jam packed with a host of applications and widgets, the majority of which are HTC unique. You won’t be seeing them on non HTC phones. As well as the usual time and weather widgets there are interesting widgets such as the Twitter widget. This widget enables you to read up to date tweets and update your status without having to open the Twitter application. The HTC Hero comes with multiple pre loaded desktop themes, each loaded with different widgets and shortcuts. You can customise these and save your configurations too. Switching between these themes, or scenes as they are called, takes only a couple of seconds and lets you completely rearrange your entire desktop almost instantly. Use one scene for home and one for work, this lets you organise better.

Social Networking – When you turn on the HTC Smartphone for the first time it asks for your Facebook, Twitter and Flickr logins. Unlike a lot of other phone this one does not dump all 500 of your Facebook friends into your contacts list; it keeps the list in the background for when you need it. The Facebook connection here is deeper and more useful than the likes of the Palm Pre. While scrolling down your phone contacts if you have linked someone to a Facebook profile you can view their most recent status. In the contact tab you can view all the usual information such as phone numbers, email addresses, photos and birthday and all recent txt messages and conversions. Also displayed are email history, recent Facebook updates and Flickr photo albums.

The HTC Smartphone, Hero, is the best Android driven yet. The phone’s design, interface and features such as totally integrated profiles make it the best smartphone to date. This is a real alternative to the iPhone and Palm Pre.

Before you waste time and money looking for this phone online, check out my comprehensive review. Which can be found at Gadgetuser.net. Thank you for your time.

Record Companies Are Now Suing Mobile Carriers For Royalties

Posted on 16 January 2010 by Mallory McGuinness-Hickey

It appears as though the music industry has found a new strategy to cash in on royalties. As music lovers are well aware, at first these companies tried to sue individual users for illegally downloading music. But it is painfully clear that this approach to recover from major financial loss has destroyed their image in the public eye.

Instead of lowering the cost of CDs in order to compete with music circulating through the internet that is for free, these businesses have turned to collection agencies who are now bringing cellphone companies to court over royalties from ring tones. Contesting that ring tones counted as public performances, the music industry asserted that cell phone companies should be obligated to pay performance fees. The courts quickly denied this claim.

Despite this unsuccessful attempt to collect on royalties, Broadcast Music Inc is now suing T-Mobile over ring back tones, claiming that the mobile carrier is selling them without licensing agreements. Unlike ring tones, which play out loud when someone calls a cellphone, ring back tones play specifically to the person calling. In other words, instead of hearing a cellphone dialing, the caller will hear a song that was chosen by the cell owner.

Music lovers are quick to point out the contradictory nature of this lawsuit. If ringtones that can be heard by anyone around a cellphone that is being called, do not equate to a public performance, it seems absurd to sue the mobile carriers over a ringback tone that can be heard only by the caller. Record companies seem to be grasping at straws as they suffer from huge financial losses.

It does not seem that the idea of lowering the cost of CDs and DVDs has occurred to the record companies. There are still a large number of music lovers out there who would rather collect and own the media, but with prices constantly rising, downloading music for free seems more and more tempting. CDs are generally priced at seventeen dollars.

A few bands have bypassed the issue of free music downloads through creative tactics. Radiohead, an alternative rock band, built a website where fans can obtain the mp3s for free, or for a donation. Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor made a similar site. The music industry’s unsuccessful lawsuits and declining public image leads one to believe that thinking outside of the box and lower pricing may be more effective than bullying money out of mobile carriers and individual users.

Need of the Hour – Mobile Phones

Posted on 10 January 2010 by Veronica Carrillo

Six in ten people (more than 4 billion individuals) around the world are carrying a powerful computing device in their pockets and purses. They don’t realize it, but today’s mobile phones have the computing power of a personal computer from the mid-nineties, while consuming a fraction of the energy and are made at significantly lower cost.

In India, the mobile phone has revolutionized communication and India is now one of the fastest growing markets for mobile phone services, with growing usage and increasing penetration. According to TRAI, there are 286 million wireless subscribers in India, June 2008, of which 76 million were capable of accessing data services. The increasing ubiquity of the mobile phone begs for it to be used as a learning tool. It would be a shame if we were unable to leverage it to improve socio-economic conditions in our vast population.

There are several ways in which people can get hold of cheap mobile phones. Some of the most common or rather popular ways, which the individuals adopt to grab their favourite handsets at less expensive rates are contract phone deals, pay as you go deals and SIM free deals. These deals shower upon the users an avalanche of benefits and freebies. As a matter of fact, products like LCD TVs, iPods and Nintendo Wii often accompany these deals and the users need not pay anything for these gifts.

Not only this as the technology progresses with every passing day, handsets also keep going through different phases and enable the users to enjoy more. Like camera phones, music handsets also enjoy worldwide users’ appreciation. There are gadgets in the market which ensure crystal clear sound quality and at the same time, allow one to create and mix music as per his interest. Moreover, devices come complete with built-in music players and FM radio and keep the music freaks rocking all the time.

When it comes to pay as you go deals or PAYG deals as they are known, is a rage among the masses. Not only do they allow the individuals to grab cheap mobile phone, but also help them get rid of hefty mobile bills. The users are free to move on to any service provider of their choice, if so desired.

So, on the whole, it can be concluded that mobile phone have become an integral part of our lives and the utility of these user friendly gadgets cannot be estimated easily. On top of it, these gadgets appear extremely pocket-friendly both in terms of prices as well as in measurements. Therefore, don’t waste time and get hold of your favourite handset at the earliest in order to stay connected with the other people and also to enhance your style statement.

Reverse Cell Phone Lookups – Best Way to Catch Your Cheating Spouse

Posted on 09 January 2010 by Lucas Mattioneli

Cell phone numbers are normally not listed in telephone directories for reasons of maintaining confidentiality of the owner. In fact the main explanation people go for cell phones are because it offers them privacy. With a cell phone you can pratically choose who you would like to talk to. You no longer need to be concerned about being bothered by useless telemarketing operators, constantly annoying you to purchase the most boring stuff all the time. Such intrusion of privacy can’t be done with a cell phone, to a large extent. Note the word ‘large extent’. Based on that explanation is there a web service to lookup a cell phone number online?

Many online services track cell phone numbers, using a system called as ‘reverse lookups’ (A reverse cell phone lookup allows users to search by a cell phone service number in order to retrieve the customer details for that service.). Using these online services you can without problems discover all the information concerning anybody by providing a simple cell phone number. The name, current and previous address and mobile carrier are some of the information featured by those services.

What kind of information you can expect to find using a cell phone lookup service?

You can expect to find the owner’s name and address. Some services also provide additional information such as the list of household members.

Here is a website of web service who offers cell phone lookup services. Although most of these online services charge a fee for these search options, you will be astonished to know how not expensive they are. Most of those online services provide very accurate information based on the cell phone you provided in a matter of seconds. It is just like using your good old yellow pages or any other telephone directory.

Are reverse phone lookup services legal?

Yes, cell phone lookup services are completely legal, provided you use the obtained information for lawful purposes. In particular, you are not allowed to take advantage of this information for making telemarketing calls.

Would you like more information on the reverse phone lookup technique mentioned in the article above? For more information including a list of popular reverse cell phone lookup sites.

Easy Cellphone Customization Ideas

Posted on 22 December 2009 by Russ Black

If you are looking for some quick and easy ways to customize your cellphone, there are a ton of different accessories and features you can get to add both personality and fun to your mobile handset. Today I’m just going to talk about three things that you can accessorize your phone with which will create a custom phone that says “you”.

First up, my favorite cellphone customization – ringtones. This is the easiest way to change the personality of your cellphone. It lets you recognize your phone, unlike when you and 5 people around you are still using the default ringtone built into your cellphone. With your own customized ringtones you won’t have to search for your phone again just to realize that it isn’t even you phone ringing. Custom ringtones are also great for letting you distinguish between your most frequent callers. You can assign a specific ringtone to different incoming numbers, so you know who is calling before you even check the number.

Idea number two is more about the personality that you project just to the people that call you, rather than coming right from your cellphone for you and people around you to hear. What I mean is the ringtone’s little brother, the ringback tone. This lets you set up music or sound clips to play for people calling you, as they wait for you to pickup. Instead of just hearing the standard ring beeps, they could be introduced to the latest club tune that you just have to share, or maybe you’d like to play some actual live elevator music just to amuse your friends.

Third on my list of personalizing your phone is to give it a facelift. The most popular models of phones are popular because they have great features and the best reviews. Adding your own faceplate or case lets you distinguish your phone from everyone else with the same model. For one thing, it lets you have some fun with your phone – it’s like buying new clothes, you can project an entirely different look just by changing you cellphone skin or faceplate. And even better, you won’t mistakenly go home with your friends phone that looks exactly the same as yours.

If you want more ideas and ways that you can personalize your cellphone, look no further than your nearest Future Shop or Circuit City. There is often even a bin of marked down cellphone cases which you can pick up for a few dollars each. At that price you could afford to pick up a bunch, so you can mix and match your cellphone and not only give it character, but make it part of your whole outfit, even when you outfit changes! Along with individual ringtones and ringbacks, there will be no mistaking your cellphone for anyone elses again.

To find out more information, click here or visit the website Ringback Tones.

Reverse Number Search-Can It Be Done?

Posted on 07 December 2009 by Tom Freeno

looking at Yellow Pages or performing a google search are some of the best ways to find the name and address of someone who owns a phone number. If you have yet to find it then you are going to need to join a reverse number search service. These kinds of services join numerous sources of info. They also allow you to search through their entire database which includes almost every single registered US Phone Number. For those of you wondering, it does include mobile numbers.

Reverse number search websites are not allowed to give this information out for free due to legal agreements with cell phone companies, the main reason for this is due to privacy. You must pay with either a valid credit card or a paypal account to prevent people from committing crimes such as stalking. Another reason these services can’t be offered for free is because cell phone companies don’t give away their database for free.

Are There Any Legit Free Services To Use?

It is very understandable if you don’t want to use a paid service (especially in this economy) so we will go over some ways you can try to find the number for free. The first step is to find your yellow page book and search through it, you might be surprised at the results you get. If you can’t find it there then head over to your favorite search engine and search for the number. If the number is listed and open to the public you should be able to find it easily. However, if it is a private number then you will have some trouble finding it for free.

What Are The Benefits From Using The Paid Service?

The Name of The Owner The Owners Address The Family Members Names A Map To Their Address

I Am Horrible With Technology, Will I Be Able To Use This Service?

All you have to do is enter the number into the search box and hit the search button. The service will provide you with the following information:

If the number is a mobile or land line number Exactly where the number was registered at And If There is Any Additional Information.

Now you know that you will have to pay a fee in order to get access to a private number. However, the fee is only a onetime fee and you will get access to unlimited searches for the rest of paid life!
